Regional Demonstration Centers The FAAST Regional Centers have a variety of assistive technology devices on display and for demonstration. You can get a free AT consultation by visiting any FAAST center, including information on where to purchase products and training on how to use them.
FAAST Spinal Cord Injury Resource Center The FAAST Spinal Cord Injury Resource Center, sponsored by the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program and administered by FAAST, is a clearinghouse of information and services which empower individuals with spinal cord injury. The Center’s primary goal is to provide post-injury education, peer mentoring and support to individuals with spinal cord injuries.
Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program FAAST works with the Department of Health’s Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program to provide assistive technology assessments, nursing home transition services and affordable housing to individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries.
The New Horizon Fund The New Horizon Fund is the loan program of the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST). This service is funded through the Rehabilitation Services Administration and the Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. The program offers Floridians with disabilities credit opportunities while purchasing equipment and items that will improve their overall quality of life.
Affordable Housing A home that fits your needs is the ultimate piece of assistive technology. FAAST can help you locate affordable housing in all of Florida’s 67 counties.
AT Lending Program One of the best ways to find out if a device will fit your needs is to test it yourself! Each of FAAST’s regional centers offers a wide variety of assistive technology and adaptive toys you can borrow at little or no cost.
Computer Recycling Program Everyone benefits when assistive technology is recycled. FAAST accepts donations of personal computers from businesses or individuals. We refurbish these computers and make them available to assistive technology users who cannot afford to buy a new PC.
AT Vendor Services FAAST has established a network of qualified AT specialists, engineers, vendors and home contractors in each of Florida’s 67 counties. We recruit quality service providers in every community to ensure competitive prices and reliability.
Community Outreach FAAST demonstrates uses for AT during community events such as senior fairs, educational conferences and workshops, and recreational forums.
