On February 5th and 6th FAAST named Senator Kathleen Passidomo and Representative Tom Leek their 2018 Dr. Frederick Haynes FAAST Legislators of the year.

Representative Tom Leek (R-Daytona)

The Florida Assistive Technology Advisory Council and the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) Board of Directors named Rep. Tom Leek  (R-Daytona) their Dr. Frederick Haynes FAAST Legislator of the Year for the Florida House of Representatives.  This award recognizes Rep. Leek’s passion to improve the lives of Floridians with disabilities.  “We are proud to name Rep. Leek as our Legislator of the Year as he provides consistent advocacy for people with disabilities in Florida,” said Michael Daniels, Executive Director of FAAST. “His work in the House is making shopping and working accessible to all Floridians, especially those with disabilities and aging in the community.”

Senator Kathleen Passidomo (R-Naples)

Kathleen Passidomo (R-Naples) their Dr. Frederick Haynes FAAST Legislator of the Year for Florida Senate.  This award recognizes Sen. Passidomo’s passion to improve the lives of veterans with disabilities and people aging in the community.  “We are proud to name Sen. Passidomo as our Legislator of the Year.  The Senator works tirelessly to improve the lives of Florida’s veterans with disabilities and our elders.  These populations will increase in the very near future, and Sen. Passidomo is their champion in the legislature,” said Michael Daniels, Executive Director of FAAST.
