Sea World’s Water Park, Aquatica Orlando is now a Certified Autism Center. This will be the first park to be able to claim that distinction. The staff have been through training and have added additional resources for visitors.
“Guests will also be provided with specific information about attractions and experiences along with in-park accommodations to help them plan their day and make informed choices best suited to their individual needs,”
–the company said in a press release.
The Park has added a quiet room with adjustable lighting to assist parents that have children with special needs to take a needed break from the chaos that comes with large theme parks.
This is following Sesame Place, another Sea World owned park, in becoming a certified autism center. Sesame Place was certified last April.
Employees went through autism sensitivity and awareness training to better help them talk with families and those with autism. The Certification requires all to go through training every two years to keep their certification. With the rise of diagnosis of autism, there is a need for organizations to step forward and gain the knowledge needed to make long-lasting relationships with their guests.
