The Florida Alliance for Assistive Services & Technology (FAAST) is proud to announce a series of engaging activities and educational content set for A.T. Awareness Day on April 17, 2024. In an impassioned display of support for individuals with disabilities and the elderly population in Florida, FAAST will champion the pivotal role that Assistive Technology plays in fostering independence and improving quality of life.
Throughout the week of April 15th, 2024, FAAST will shine a spotlight on the innovative assistive devices and services that offer newfound hope and opportunities for individuals facing barriers in their daily lives. A robust schedule of events, including a Social Media Challenge and featured segments with AT vendors, aims to magnify awareness across the Sunshine State. “Our objective is not only to raise awareness but also to highlight the tangible differences that assistive technology makes day by day,” FAAST Executive Director Eric Reed passionately shared. “FAAST Services are FREE for Floridians! With knowledge, we fuel choice, which in turn propels individuals toward self-sufficiency and community engagement – a life of independence cultivated through the empowerment of Assistive Technology.”
FAAST invites the community to view video demonstrations showcasing how AT devices can enhance learning, working, and leisure activities. These demos provide an authentic look at the remarkable ways in which technology bridges gaps and creates connections.
In a display of unwavering commitment to their mission and vision, FAAST welcomes the generosity of the public and encourages donations using the hashtag #SupportFAAST to sustain the continued provision of these life-altering services. Donations can be made at https://faast.org/support-faast/.
